Ways to be Christmas-y during the back to school season
Hi Friends, I hope your week is going well.
Yesterday’s post encouraged you to donate supplies to a school or children’s home during this back to school season. Today’s Christmas-y suggestion is to get a little more personal, and consider donating directly to a child in need. Some people would love to help but are weary of donating when they dont know if their help wiill get to someone who needs it.
Maybe there is a child in need in your child’s class. Maybe its your neighbour’s child or your colleague’s child. Point is there are many children in need, and if you do a bit of asking you may find that you know someone you can help.

If you jump over to amazon you can find school supply kits with enough items:
- For an elementary student there is a kit contains 4 wide rule spiral notebooks, 2 paper folders, 1 pink eraser, 1 scissor, 1 ruler, 2 glue sticks, 1 liquid glue, 1 pack of Crayola markers, 1 pack of Crayola crayons, 1 pencil box, 8 #2 pencils.
- For a secondary school student this kit includes two 1″ binders, Two Packages Notebook Paper, Four Spiral Notebooks, 2 Composition Notebooks, 6 Paper Folders with Brads, 2 Boxes of Bic Pens (blue and black), Fiskars Ruler, 12 Pack of Crayola Colored Pencils, Mechanical Pencils with Extra Lead, Ruled Note Cards, Pencil Bag
These are just to give you an idea of the types of supplies a student might need. If you can’t do a package like this or dont want to buy online, maybe a set of individual supplies from your local office supply store can help. Local stores such as Megamart or Fontana sell school supplies that you can pick up during a regular shopping trip.
I hope this gets you thinking and inspires you to do good during this period. If you can think of others ways to help out, please drop by the comments and share!
