Have you ever heard of therapy dough?

I’ve never heard of it until today. Buuuut, if I was to really think about it, that’s not entirely true. Therapy dough is basically a putty or dough that has essential oils added to it. Without the essentials oils, it’s basically playdough or modelling clay! Modelling clay has all sorts of benefits for children – increases creativity, promotes relaxation, helps with focus, promotes sensory development, etc.

So now that I think about it, therapy dough isn’t quite so weird is it? It’s basically playdough in a more adult centric format. You are expected to fiddle with it- shape it, stretch it, roll it, squeeze it – while going about your usual activities, and enjoy the scents from the oils while reducing stress and anxiety.

The therapy dough from the pinch me brand, comes in these cute little jars. They have several scents available for your pleasure.

The therapy dough on offer from “The Squeeze” claims to be made with natural products like olive oil, epsom salts and mediterranean sea salt.

This one from Aroma Dough claims to be gluten free and hypoallergenic.

As you can see there are a multitude of options available. But I suppose if you have kids at home who are into playdough, you could always plop down and play with them for a bit, or borrow some from their stash. Additionally, you can make your own at home, if you want to try this type of sensory play therapy.

What do you think? Are you up for trying something like this? Do you know anyone who would love this as a gift?

Do you love all things Cup Noodles?

Well, if you do this may be right up your alley. It’s Cup Noodles Yahtzee. I don’t know anything about Yahtzee – I’ve never played it, but this version of the game has the look and feel of Cup Noodles. The scorecard, the dice and the cup are all noodle-themed and look like they’d be very fun for the Cup Noodle enthusiast.

This great collectible gift is perfect for fans of instant lunch ramen!

I just spotted this in a Buzzfeed list and I’m just shaking my head. Oh and it’s not because the product is weird or anything like that. It just goes to show that anything can be a thing. I can only imagine the joy a collector of cup noodle items and board game lover would have with this. Plus you might get some laughs, or weird looks, when people stop by your house and spot it in your living room.

So tell me, would you try this out? Do you have a Cup Noodle collection to add this to? OR do you have a fun collection of Yahtzee games to add this to?

I’ve got my eye on a mug warmer.

Have you ever made a cup of something – coffee, tea, cocoa, whatever – and forgotten about it? Have you ever felt bad about tossing it, so you try reheating it or drinking it cold? It’s not always pleasant, is it? Enter a little contraption called a mug warmer!

A mug warmer is a device on which you place your mug (glass or ceramic usually). with you preferred beverage. The heating plate will keep the contents of your cup warm and at a palatable temperature. That way you can enjoy your beverage, even if/when you get distracted by your daily tasks. I suppose, you could achieve the same objective by keeping your beverage in an insulated mug. However, I like mug warmers because they can fit various sizes of mugs, allowing you to enjoy a range of meals/beverages such as soup or oatmeal. Plus, if you are home, it’s less likely that you’ll pull for your travel mug.

This mug warmer has 3 temperature settings for you to choose from. It also has an auto-shut off feature, that turns it off after 4 hours of use.

This mug warmer allows you to choose from 4 temperature settings. It also shuts off after 4 hours.

This mug warmer comes with a low, flat-ish surface that expands its usefulness. You could probably fit a small plat on there to keep your snacks warm (think cookies or brownies). The retailer notes that you can use it to warm your scented candle melts!!

Most mug warmer options come as a stand alone product, however you do have some that come as a set with a mug included. A quick search over at Rakuten shows that you can purchase coffee warmers from various stores. They even show you how much cashback you will received. If you prefer to shop on Amazon, you know they will give you many options. Do you have a mug warmer? Is it really useful or does it end up as another of those things you buy and forget to use?

What do you think about a beer dispenser?

Today’s bit of scrolling brought me to this little gadget. It’s a Draft Pour Beer Dispenser. I’ve always thought that foamy bit (read: head) on top of beers was cool. It looks fun and nice. I don’t know if it has an impact on the taste but like I said it looks fun.

I’m sure you can tell I am not a beer drinker, but this looks like it would be a nice gift for a beer lover – maybe one who doesn’t have the space or cash to have a full draft set-up at home. I dunno, it just looks like a cool gift. The Amazon reviews are decent, but if you are into this, I’d suggest you do your own research.

This is the one I initially saw on Amazon. You put in a bottle or can of your favourite brew, pull the lever then enjoy!

I like it because it’s small. It’s portable. And looks like it would make a great conversation piece. I imagine a beer lover, gathering with friends to watch TV or chatting at a party, while enjoying the magic of this little device.

Would you like something like this a a present? Would you use it often or would you forget about it after the novelty wore off? Lemme know what you think.

I’ve got my eye on some coffee mugs.

Let’s just start by getting this out of the way … I love mugs. I dont know why. I cant explain it. I just do. I have more mugs than glasses in my kitchen. I have regular mugs. I have oversized mugs. I have mugs with designs on them. I have mugs without.

What I don’t have are glass mugs. I don’t have those cute double walled joints that you can see your yummy concoctions through.

Look at these double walled mugs. Aren’t they just beautiful?!?

This set of 2 comes with a cute little spoon! YAY!!

Come on now! The interior of this one is shaped like a heart. How could I not love this?

What do you think? Are these just so fun looking and fancy? Wouldn’t having your coffee or tea be soooo much better from one of these? I kinda think so. Tell me what you think. How do you feel about mugs? How many is too much?

Have you seen this building block mug?

I can’t say that I have spent much time with building blocks recently. To be honest, the most I’ve done is shop for Legos for my son for Christmas. Despite this, I do feel that building blocks are a wonderful toy regardless of age. It helps get the creative juices flowing and if nothing else, it can be a great bonding experience.

Anyhoo, during a bit of doom scrolling on Amazon I came across this mug. So what’s so great about this mug? Well, not only is it good for sipping your fave beverage, you can use your blocks with it. You can add blocks in no particular pattern or create a wonderful scene to accompany snack time. It is not a lego branded item but I gather that it works with blocks from various manufacturers.

I can see this being a great gift for any fan of blocks. I can also see it being a big distraction at meal time and being fought over if there is more than one block lover! So gift wisely.

Do I really need AirPods?

Hey Friends!

I have been considering getting a pair of the Apple AirPods Pro. If you aren’t familiar with them, the AirPods Pro are the latest iteration of earbuds from Apple. According to Apple, the AirPods Pro “deliver Active Noise Cancellation for immersive sound”. They also have an option that lets you hear your surroundings. You can customize the fit of the tips so it fits yours ears better than a one size fits all situation.

As one would expect the AirPods Pro seamlessly integrate with Siri, so you can tell it to play you favourite songs or set reminders or read your messages, or do whatever you need her to do. You get about 24 hours of listening time and 18 hours of talk time. There are controls for your music, and if your phone supports it you can use audio sharing to share the same audio stream on 2 sets of AirPods … meaning you and a pal can watch movies or listen to an audiobook or listen to the same music together (I imagine this is kind of like having your own silent party).

So, now that we know what they are and what they should do, I am back to my question of do I really need a pair? I imagine earbuds were meant for people who are always listening to music or podcasts. I am not one of those people. I suppose I could be, but I’m currently not. It’s not that I don’t listen to music, I just don’t think I listen to it enough to need a device dedicated to that purpose.

Maybe I could grow into having a pair. I mean, if I spent my money on them, I may very well be inclined to make the most of them. I could use them when I do my exercises. I could use them when I’m watching Netflix in bed. I could use them to drown out my kid when he is watching people on YouTube play Minecraft. I am not entirely convinced these are compelling enough reasons to buy them … but I still want them.

So friends, tell me what you think. Do I really need AirPods or does it sound like I just want them because they are there? Do you own a pair? Do you actually use them?
